David Tillman Tillotson, Sr.

Rev. David Tillman Tillotson, Sr., age 84 of 114 O’Dell St. died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC.
He was born in Spartanburg County and was a son of the late Wofford and Mattie Mathis Tillotson.
Rev. Tillotson was employed with Duke Power for 10years before entering the ministry. During his ministry he served several churches in the upstate of the SC District, before retiring from the Heritage Wesleyan Church in Whitmire, he also was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII
Surviving are his wife, Faye Jenkins Tillotson of the home, his four children, Sarah Arndt and her husband, Robert of Ridgeway, SC, David Tillman Tillotson, Jr. and wife, Karen of Whitmire, Martha T. Childs and her husband, Dennis of Irmo and Sam Tillotson and his wife, Becky of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Alfred Clayton Tillotson of Haines City, FL; one sister, Lillie Keeter of Greenwood, SC; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Rev. Tillotson was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Carrie Hawkins Tillotson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Mar. 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Timothy Lutheran Church with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
