Rev. Dr. Jerrold Burnside “Jerry”, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Presbyterian Home of SC at the age of 66.
Dr. Burnside was born in York County, SC on October 17, 1944. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eugenia Burnside, and two sisters, Brenda and Elaine. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Erskine College in Dew West, SC, Master of Theology and Master of Divinity at Columbia Seminary in Decatur, GA, Doctorate of Ministry in Chicago, IL. He was a licensed counselor with a degree from Webster University. He enjoyed the ministry, preaching in South Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, and North Carolina. He spent his life in constant thought how he could serve God and others. He was a member of Presbyterian USA.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Diering Burnside of Fayetteville; two sons, Clark Burnside and wife Jessica of Summerville, SC and John Burnside and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville, NC; a daughter Nicole Burnside of Surfside, SC; seven grandchildren, Kaleb, Savannah, Brashington, Jerry, Gavin, Madie and Aiden.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Rock Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
