Rev. William Franklin “Bill” Deitz, Sr., 73, of Boiling Spring Lakes, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at his home. Rev. Deitz was born Oct. 6, 1936 in Clinton, SC and was the son of Fred and Viola Carson Deitz. He was a Baptist minister and had served in interim positions at Lebanon Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, Bolivia Baptist Church and Gospel Center Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James Deitz.
Surviving are his wife Douglas “Dougie” Deitz of the home; his mother, Viola Deitz of Clinton; a son, William Franklin Deitz Jr.; four brothers, Wayne Deitz and wife Patsy of Kinards, SC Marvin Deitz of Greenville, SC, Leon Deitz and Willis Deitz and wife Shelby all of Clinton, SC; two grandchildren, Lyndsey Marie Deitz and William Samuel Deitz; a sister-in-law, Lucile Deitz of Clinton, SC.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5th 2009 in the chapel of Southport Baptist Church with burial in Northwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 2334 South 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403
