Roy Lee Russ

Rev. Roy Russ, age 90 of National Healthcare in Laurens, died Friday, October 15, 2010.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Henry Decater and Lola Hughes Russ.
Rev. Russ was the founder of the Rose of Sharon Holiness Church in Gray Court, and was the Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church all of his adult life.
He is survived by a son, Shannon S. Russ, Sr. and wife, Bonnie Russ; five grandchildren, Shannon Russ, Jr., Crystal Gibbs and husband, Thomas, Jimmy Russ, John Bunner and wife, Erin, and Ann Brown and husband, Adam; nine great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren
He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Etolya Reece Russ and five sisters, Juanita Leopard, Beatrice Reece, Thelma Nelson, Ruby Nell Bishop and Lyda Mae Todd.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 17th at 3:00 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Church in Clinton with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will at the home of his son at 1699 Ranch Road in Laurens.
