R H “Bo” Moates, age 58, of 114 Moreland Avenue, Laurens passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
He was born in Aurora, Colorado, and was a son of the late Pet Moates, Jr. and Suzanna Clark Moates formerly of Joanna.
Professionally, Mr. Moates worked as a Pipeline Equipment Operator and Foreman for several years. Most recently, he served as a Pipeline Inspector with Cleveland Integrity Services, Inc. and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, where he proudly helped lead the Red Devils to the State Football Championship in 1977 and 1978. Bo was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He also had a talent and fondness for carpentry and landscaping.
Bo was loyal and kind, with a fun-loving spirit who was always willing to assist family and friends. He loved and adored his children. The respect and admiration they have for him is an inspiring testament to the wonderful father he was…truly a hero to them.
Bo was a believer in Christ and of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife, Kearston Simmons Moates; two daughters, Alec Jade Moates of Anderson and Ressa Hayes Moates of Laurens; a brother, JJ Moates of Cross Hill, a sister, Debra Moss of Abbeville, and many special nieces and nephews.
