Richard E. Chapman

Richard E. Chapman, age 81, of Whitmire, SC, widower of Bobbie Vicars Chapman, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Prisma Health-Laurens County Hospital.
Born August 14, 1940 in Whitmire, SC, he was a son of the late Alvin Eugene Chapman and Doris Hester Chapman.
Mr. Chapman is survived by his son, Doug Chapman of Whitmire, his granddaughter he raised as his own, Kristin Devost (Drue) of Clinton; his great-grandchildren, David and Adelyn Devost; and Sophie his best fur friend.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years who passed only days before him.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11 AM, March 5, 2022 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire, burial will follow at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Whitmire from 6-8:00 PM Friday evening.
