Richard King, age 71, of 1239 Lovers Lane, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, in the Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
He was born in Pontiac, MI, and was the son of the late James and Lorraine Porter King.
Mr. King retired from General Motors and was a member of Evans St. Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Griffin King, of the home; a step-son, Glenn Duncan and his wife, Rae Ann, of Whitmire; and a step-daughter, Charlene Stroud, of Newberry; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Evans St. Church of God. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evans St. Church of God, 600 Evans Street, Whitmire, SC 29178.
