Richard Elliott Walker, age 76, of 1533 Tyger River Rd., died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Rock Hill, SC and was a son of the late William L. and Lois M. Walker.
Mr. Walker served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Gregory.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila Walker of the home; a son, Glen R. Walker and wife, Margie of Whitmire; a daughter Tracy Walker Martin and husband, Guy of Fort Mill; a brother, Archie L. Walker of Ohio; a sister, Judy Childers of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Glen A. Walker, Holly R. Martin, Amber Walker, Nena Walker and Beth L. Martin; and great-grandchildren, Autumn Burch and Abigail Burch.
He was predeceased by a son, Dale E. Walker; a brother, David Walker; and sisters, Polly Childers, Shirley Garrett and Gladys Reeves.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Indian Land, SC.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the home of Tracy Martin, 7944 Henry Harris Rd., Fort Mill, SC.
