Richard R. McMahan, age 80 of 684 Pittman Landing died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at home.
He was born in Oviedo, FL and was a son of the late Benjamin and Emma Hall McMahan.
He was owner of City News Newspaper; a member of the Moose Lodge; was of the Baptist Faith and was a Navy Veteran of WW II, serving in Korea and Japan.
Surviving are one son, Richard R. McMahan, Jr. of the home, two daughters, Sherry Wilson of Joanna and Sharron Bright of Gaffney; one brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin & Dolly McMahan of Titusville, FL; seven grandchildren, Crystal Sullivan, Benji Sullivan, D. J. Beck, Josh Beck, J.J. Webb, Ben Fuller and Amber Malpass; eleven great-grandchildren and two loving dogs, Junior and Blackie.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 4th at 11:00 a.m. in Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with entombment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
