Rita Diane Burdette Scott, age 52, of North Augusta, SC died in Illinois on September 16, 2014.
A native of Aiken County, SC, Mrs. Scott was predeceased by her husband, Richard Scott, and her parents, Samuel Earl Burdette and Martha Joy Harrison Burdette.
Mrs. Scott was a graduate of Clemson University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 1984. For several years, she was employed by various animal rescue agencies in South Carolina. She was a supporter of the Humane Society of South Carolina and dedicated herself to the prevention of animal cruelty. Mrs. Scott was currently employed by J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., and has been employed in the transportation industry since 1996.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Burdette of North Augusta, SC; a niece, Heather Baston and her husband, Jim, of Washington, GA; a great-niece and nephew, Addison and Avery Baston; and extended family members.
Graveside Memorial services will be held Friday, September, 26th, at 11:30A.M. at Bramlett United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gray Court, SC.
