Robert Gary DeLoach, the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Benjamin DeLoach, laid aside his earthly burdens and passed through the gates of Heaven on the evening of December 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, J. W. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Ruby Haydock-DeLoach and a daughter, Ginger Lynn DeLoach. Gary graduated from Clinton High School, Clinton, SC in the Class of 1956. In 1962, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Presbyterian College, Clinton, SC. Early on, Gary worked in textiles as a supervisor. Next, he worked in insurance before gaining employment with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission. For five years, he worked in Florence in the SCESC. He was transferred to the state office in Columbia in 1970. In 1984, Gary returned to Laurens County, his home county as Director of the SCESC Office. Gary was a deeply spiritual person. Like his mother, he read his Bible daily and he attended church regularly. When his health no longer permitted regular church attendance, he and his wife followed the television broadcast of First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Gray Funeral Home, Clinton, SC on Tuesday, December 23 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Ruby and Ginger request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Columbia, SC Television Ministry, 1306 Hampton St., Columbia, SC 29201.
