Robert Alexander Hill

Robert “Dr. Bob” Alexander Hill, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2017. He was born on January 6, 1930 in Toledo, OH, the son of the late August Henry Hill and Margaret Campbell Mason.

Bob graduated from Lutheran High School in Detroit, MI. He earned his undergraduate degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, his Masters of Education at the University of Miami, FL and his PhD in Special Education at the University of Georgia. Bob taught at UGA until 1973, then moved his family to Clinton, SC, where he taught Special Education at Presbyterian College until his retirement in 1994. Bob was an avid golfer and an active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years.

He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Hill of Clinton, daughters Cheryl Hill Talbert of Lawrenceville, GA, Cathy Hill (Jim) Holmberg of Sterling, VA, grandsons Matthew Talbert, Jeffrey Talbert of Lawrenceville, GA, and Nikolaus Holmberg of Sterling, VA. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.

After a family burial, a Memorial Service will be held at Broad Street United Methodist Church at 3:00 pm on February 18, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Broad Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 204, Clinton, SC 29325.
