Robert Lee (PeeWee) Franklin of Bonds Cross Roads, went to heaven on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Franklin County, GA on June 11, 1927 to Robert Calhoun and Beulah Streetman Franklin. He was a member of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Limousine Cattleman’s Association. He joined the Loyal Order of the Moose in 1948, served in the National Guard for 6 years and worked at Greenwood Mills for 42 years.
He was the husband to Ernestine Franklin for 58 years, daddy to Donna (Larry) Summers and Michael (Renee) Franklin. He was PaPa to Robbie and AJ Franklin, Morgan Summers and Brooke Summers Shealy and also to great-grandchildren , Colbey Franklin, Rhett and Garett Shealy. He was a brother to Louise Dove, Brenda Kitchens and Linda Motes.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
The family will be at the residence, 3107 Whitmire Highway.
