Robert L. “Wick” Wickham age 86 of 203 Young Drive died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Hospice House, Hospice of Laurens County.
He was born in Linn County, Iowa and was a son of the late Frank C.
and Mabel L. Wickham.
Mr. Wickham was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a flight engineer and veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
He had 40 years of service at Thornwell Home and School For Children serving in several capacities.
He was a member of Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church, a member of the Gideons and enjoyed being a member of many different farm and cattle organizations.
Mr. Wickham is survived by a son, Robert S. “Bobby” Wickham of
Tullahoma, TN; two daughters, Donna W. Ludeman of Snellville, GA, and
M. Michele Wickham of Clinton; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine W. Wickham; two sons, Charles S. “Pete” Wickham and Michael R. Wickham.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hartness-Thornwell Presbyterian Church with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
