Ruby Elliott Lewis

Ruby Elliott Lewis, age 91, formerly of 306 Blalock Dr., Joanna, widow of John R. Lewis, Sr., died December 16, 2012 at NHC of Clinton.
She was born in Royston, Georgia and was the daughter of the late H.M. Elliott Sr. and Gladys Higginbotham Elliott.
Mrs. Lewis was a former employee of Joanna Mills and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna.
Surviving are three sons: John R. Lewis Jr. and wife, Willa Rae of Ruskin, Florida, George Danny Lewis (Ann Davis) of Cairo, Georgia, James Edward Lewis, Sr. and wife Kay of Gilbert, two daughters, Rev. Gladys Kay Lewis (Happy) Shaw of Albuquerque, NM, and Susan Lewis Simpson of Joanna, her brother, H.M. (Doc) Elliott, Sr. of Polk City, FL and thirteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Louise Wright, Calvin Elliott, Mildred Mundy, Andrew Elliott and Frances Newman.
Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Jerry Pickens, will be conducted Wednesday, December 19th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens. Grandsons will be pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 before the service at the church.
