Ruby Meece O'Dell

Ruby Meece O'Dell, age 83, resident of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community, widow of James Donald "Don" O'Dell, passed away, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Hospice of Laurens County.
She was born July 4, 1940 in Leicester, NC and was a daughter of the late James Edward Meece and Vaudie Willis Meece. Mrs. O'Dell was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church, where she served on the fellowship committee. She retired from her job as Quality Control Manager for Sara Lee Bakery in Greenville, SC.
She is survived by her children, Donna Frazier (John), Mark O'Dell (Lessa), and Robin O'Dell; her grandchildren, Adam O'Dell (Kristen), and Andrew O'Dell (Shannon); her great grandchildren, Ashton O'Dell, Kylie O'Dell, and Archer O'Dell; and her sister, Faye Kirkland.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Meece, Edward Meece, and Robert Meece; her sisters, Ruth Meece, Margaret Brown and Elizabeth Tester; and her daughter-in-law Cheryl O’Dell.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 22, 2024 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Nathan Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church.
