Ruth Fuller Holland

On May 25, 2016, Ruth Fuller Holland moved from this cold, friendless, dark world into eternal daylight.
Born in Laurens County, South Carolina, August 17, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Sammuel and Minnie Leake Davenport Fuller, for several years employed as a seamstress at the Laurens Shirt Factory, she also, worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Laurens Nursing Center for 21 years, she also, worked for the Department of Mental Retardation (Whitten Center) for 15 years as a nurse’s aide in the children mental hospital, where she later retired.
She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Choir Member, and a faithful member. She was a member of Sunshine Chapter #62 Order of the Eastern Star (50 year member) a Life Member of National Negro Women.
She was married to the (late) Lewis Holland, Sr. and later remarried to the (late) Willie Roy Anderson, her memory; one daughter, Deborah Ann Holland Byrd (Leroy) of Laurens, SC, seven sons, Lewis Holland, Jr., Johnny Calvin Holland (deceased), David Stanley Holland, Eric Wayne Holland (Tracy), Herbert Bernard Holland of Washington, DC, Paul Gregory Holland of Aiken, SC and Sedric Holland of Duncan (Paulette) Lillie Mae Anderson; five sisters, Martha J. Boyd (Hoover), (late) Lillie Mae Anderson, (late) Enice Calhoun, (late) Jenny V. Nance, (late) Queen Ester Cook; six brothers, Mr. Edward Fuller, (late) Vandyville Davenport, (late) Dupree Davenport, (late) Sammuel Davenport, (late) John Davenport, (late) Pernell Fuller, one sister-in-law, Lauree Golden, three brothers-in-law, Hoover Boyd of Laurens, David C. Holland of Denver, CO., (late) John Calhoun of Detroit, MI; 31 Grandchildren; 30 Great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; one grandchild raised in the family home, Belinda Holland.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the White Plains Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Johnny Johnson with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the family home at 398 Pinehaven St. Ext., Laurens, SC 29360.
