Ruth English Shields

Ruth English Shields, age 83, widow of Beuford Shields died Friday, April 10, 2009 at White Oak Manor in Newberry.
She was born in Lumberton, NC and was a daughter of the late Douglas and Ida Mae Trammel English.
Mrs. Shields was a former employee of Regal Mille and member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy Shields and wife, Amelia and Bobby Shields and wife, Kim all of Whitmire; three brothers, Mac English and Tony English both of Whitmire, Terry English of Union; two sisters, Kate Arrowood and Nancy Brock both of Whitmire; four grandchildrenMaria Dickerson, Melissa Gilliam, Matt Shields and Cadee Shields all of Whitmire; four great grandchildren, Jacob and Micah Dickerson and Isabella and Rhett Gilliam.
Mrs. Shields was predeceased by two brothers, David and Kenneth English and a sister, Louise Blackwell.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Whitmire with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
