S. David Prince

S. David Prince, age 77, of 101 N. Main St. passed away Thursday, September 5th at the Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late Samuel Franklin and Minnie Bell White Prince. Mr. Prince retired from Cone Mills Carlisle Plant. He was U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the SC National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Prince, of the home; son David Prince (Chrissie) of Florence; daughters Donna Brock (Randy) of Whitmire, Rhonda McCall of Rock Hill, and Bonnie Pressley (Barry) of Whitmire; brother Tommy Prince of Whitmire; sisters Frances Erskine of Whitmire, Margie Felker of Whitmire, Lula Harrison of Laurens, and Dorothy Stewart of Union; ten grandchildren, David Prince, Jr., Lucas Prince, Grayson Prince, Gina Brock, Daniel Brock, Amber Cabiness, Heather Carvalho, Rebecca Pettit, Jessica Pressley, and Nicole Pressley; as well as four great grandchildren, Nathan Rector, Jayden Rector, Madelyn Pettit, and Tyler Salley.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 8th at 2:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Whitmire followed by burial with military honors in the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Whitmire.
