Sadie Roddy Erwin

Mrs. Sadie R. Erwin, 82, wife of W. C. Erwin for 35 years, went home to be with the Lord on
November 16, 2016 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was born in Laurens, SC on
March 16, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Alvin C. and Pearl F. Roddy.
Sadie retired from Carlisle Finishing and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire, SC. Sadie loved her family and was known to everyone for her painting. She always had a smile on her face and loved to write poetry.
Sadie is survived by her two daughters Vicky (Dewayne) Millwood and Teresa (Robbie) Hunnicutt both of Whitmire; one stepdaughter Amy (Paul) Varner of Spartanburg; one stepson Randy Erwin of Whitmire; two grandchildren Jamie (Dave) Metzelfeld of Elgin and Tyler (Heather) Millwood of Joanna; three step-grandchildren Andrew (Samantha) Erwin of Clinton, Coleman Varner and Emma Varner both of Spartanburg; two great-grandsons Owen and Jacob Metzelfeld of Elgin; one step-great-granddaughter Peyton Erwin of Clinton; and one step-great-grandson Phillip Erwin of Clinton.
She was predeceased by her brother Cleo Roddy and three sisters Juanita Sellers, Gladys Hunnicutt, and Betty Roddy.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in
Whitmire, SC. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray
Funeral Home Chapel, Whitmire, SC. Burial will be immediately following the service at the
Whitmire Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at her home, 166 Leaman Avenue, Whitmire,
SC.
