Sadie B. Gambrell Gilliam

Sadie B. Gambrell Gilliam, age 88, widow of Paul Wesley Gambrell and David Gilliam, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, in the White Oak Manor in Newberry.
She was born in Wolf Mountain, NC, and was the daughter of the late William Jasper and Emmea McGaha Owen.
Mrs. Gilliam retired from J. P. Stevens after 40 years. She was the oldest member of God’s Healing Spring Baptist Church and was an excellent seamstress and cook.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Gambrell (Elaine) of Silverstreet, and Earl Gambrell (Lynda) of Clinton; six grandchildren Mark Gambrell, David Brotherton, Michael Brotherton, Casey Gambrell, Amber Gambrell and Joy Gambrell; and eight great-grandchildren Garrett Gambrell, Cheyann Gambrell, Taylor Gambrell, Isabella Bowling, Lindsay Gambrell, Chase Gambrell, Zack Chaffins and Henley Chaffins.
She was predeceased by her daughter Gillie Corine Brotherton, and two great-grandchildren Mark Wesley Gambrell, Jr. and Austin Gambrell.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
