Sam Mathis Jr

Sam Mathis, Jr. age 75, of 127 J. D. Road, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Laurens County Hospice House.
He was born in Greenville County and was a son of the late Sam Mathis, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Gillespie Mathis.
He was a former employee with Sloan Construction and the owner and operator of Sam’s Upholstery and Auto Trim Shop.
Mr. Mathis was predeceased by his wife, Ann Mathis.
Surviving are one son, David Mathis and wife Tara of Clinton, one daughter, Amy Mathis and Earl Faulkner of Kinards, two brothers, Bennie Mathis and Larry Mathis both of Easley, four sisters, Thelma Holcombe of Easley, Ruth McClaine of Dacusville, Louise Kline of Naples, FL, and Katherine Smith of Six Mile; two grandchildren, Allen Michael Mathis of Clinton and Kali Lane Paul of Branson, MO and one great-grandson, Ace Damian Mathis of Clinton.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, November 2nd at 4 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening , Nov 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
