Sara Frances Moates

Sara Frances Moates, age 95, formerly of 76 Union Street in Whitmire, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at the NHC Healthcare, Laurens.
She was born August 7, 1928 in Whitmire and was the only child of the late James Levi Motes and Betty Helen Cole Motes.
Frances graduated from Whitmire High School in 1947. She went to work with Southern Bell in Columbia after graduation. In early 1950, Frances returned to Whitmire and went to work for Dr. Alfred Schriver as a dental assistant and continued working with Dr. Schriver until he retired. Shortly thereafter, she went to work at Whitten Center in Clinton as a Supervisor. After retiring from Whitten Center, she began working for Walmart in Union. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by a family of loving cousins.
Graveside Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Whitmire Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Bledsoe officiating.
