Sara McKittrick Moon, age 88, of Joanna, SC, widow of Bill Moon, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at her home.
She was born November 15, 1933 and was a daughter of the late George William and the late Frances Johnson McKittrick. She accepted Jesus as her savior in 1954 at Emory River Baptist Church and was baptized in the Emory River in Gobey, TN. She was a children's Sunday school teacher at West Milton Baptist Church in Ohio.
Sara retired from Asten-Johnson after 23 years of service. After retirement she enjoyed working in her flower beds, especially her roses, word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters Patty Malpass (Mike T.), Peggy Lewis, Pam Ginn; her son, William Gunter (Renee); her grandchildren, Carrie Hinton (Kevin), Bobby Ginn (Crystal), Amber Malpass, Angie Ginn, Teresa Calhoun, Jennifer Posey (Chris), Shane Lewis, Cliff Gunter (Jennifer), Little Bill Gunter, and Victoria Gunter; her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brayden (Quen’taja), Kylee (Fisher), Nick, Anzley, Grace, Alyssa, Sancee (Josh), Justin, Christopher, Brianna, Michael, Zaide, Matt, Drew (Kylie), Sebastian, Destiny, and William; her great-great-grandchildren, Bryleigh, Ellee, Justice, Grant, Nathan, Natalie, and Gabriel; her brothers, Harold McKittrick (Nancy), Tommy McKittrick; her sister, Sylvia Tinsley (Lonnie); and her sisters-in-law, Connie McKittrick, Barbara McKittrick, Linda McKittrick, and Freda Johnston.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim McKittrick, Bill McKittrick, Raymond McKittrick, and Bobby McKittrick; and her sister, Gray Barker.
A Funeral Service will be held 4 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Pastor Shannon Faulkner and Pastor Darren Rood officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday afternoon from 2- 4 PM at the funeral home.
