S. Frank Templeton, age 80 of 759 Lakewood Dr. died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Hospice of Laurens County Hospice House in Clinton.
He was a lifelong native of Laurens and was a son of the late Maxcy H. and Mary M. Templeton.
Mr. Templeton retired from Whiteford’s Drive-In of Laurens, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurens where he was a member of the Wesley Sunday School class and the Methodist Men’s Club. He was a former Laurens City Councilman and former member of the Laurens Lion’s Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Jo Sneed Templeton of the home; two sons; Frank Templeton and wife Shaye of Mountville, Joe Templeton of Denver, CO; four daughters, Debbie Morgan and husband, Glenn of Laurens, Dianne Melton and husband, Donnie of Laurens, Libby Corley and husband, John of Pittsburgh, PA, Leigh Hendrix of Creston, NC; one brother, Jack Templeton and wife, June of Laurens; five sisters, Agnes Armfield of Newberry, Betty Power and husband, Harold of Clinton, Margaret Ann Hopkins of Augusta, GA, Mary Hawkins and husband, James of Conway, Nancy Thompson and husband, C.M. of Augusta, GA; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will held Saturday, July 18th at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Laurens conducted by Rev. Bill Rogers and Rev. Dan Compton.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church sanctuary.
