Sgt. David J. Holden, age 73 of 145 Chestnut Hill, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Henderson County, NC and was a son of the late Floyd and Robbie Holden.
He was retired from the U S Army Nationl Guard and Local Union 421, Pipefitters. Mr. Holden was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Parris Holden of the home, one son, David Kirk Holden and wife, Anita of Alexandria, TN; two sisters, Arlene Jones of Hendersonville, NC and Nancy McGraw of Plantation, FL and two grandchildren, Ethan Holden and Mary Ashley Holden.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shepherd Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. in Hendersonville, NC.
The family will receive friends from Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
