Sharon Herring Venable

Sharon Herring Venable, age 88 and widow of Carl Haywood Venable passed away April 17, 2025.

Born in Mt. Holly, NC on Sunday, August 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Fred & Margie Herring. She graduated from Mt. Holly High School and King College in Charlotte, NC.

Moving to Clinton, SC in 1969 Sharon and her husband Carl founded Electric Motor Service of Clinton, where she worked there for over 35 years. She was a proud member of Broad Street United Methodist Church since 1969, to include singing in the church choir, Sunday School teacher and various church committees. Sharon loved the outdoors, her rose garden and cherished her family and her faith in God. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Ward of Lamar SC; her sons, Doug Venable of Charlotte NC and Shawn Venable (Lea) of Simpsonville SC; her four grandchildren, Dawn (Bill) Crites of Blythewood SC, Enga (Chad) Hair of Darlington SC, Katie (Anthony) Lawson of Mountville SC, Tommy Venable of Clinton SC; her three great grandchildren, Maddie Acciardo, Corinne Hair and Emma Lawson and her one great-great grandchild, Henley Acciardo.

She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, her brother Dennis Herring, and son-in-law, Richard Ward.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Broad Street United Methodist Church 310 North Broad Street, Clinton, SC to be conducted by Rev. Justin Ritter. The family will greet friends following the service in the Cunningham Center at church.
