Shirley L. Childs, age 70, of 78 Shadow Wood Drive and widow of Ralph Childs died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the Laurens County Hospice House.
She was born in Clinton and was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Geneva Smith Lowery.
Mrs. Childs was a retired Cosmetologist and a member and past president of the S.C. Cosmetology Board and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Charles (Chucky) Mann and his wife, Wanda of Clinton; a daughter, Christy L. McCall and her husband, David of Laurens; Daughter-in-law, Debra D. Mann of Clinton; Stepson, Ralph D. Childs, Jr. and wife, Kim of United Arab Emirates; a brother, Fred Lowery of Clinton; ten grandchildren, Bryan McCall and wife, Angela of Greenwood, Christopher McCall of Laurens, Chris Prince of Whitmire, Anthony Byrum, Nicholas Mann, Michael Mann and Luke Mann and Breanna Mann all of Clinton, Trey Childs and Kayla Childs of Greenwood, 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb and Levi McCall of Greenwood.
She was predeceased by a son, Tim Mann, a brother, Kenneth Lowery, and a sister, Ruth C. Hingos.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church with entombment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton.
