Stephen Walter Blackwell, Sr, age 44, of 502 Shands Street, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Clinton, SC and was a son of Patricia Ballard Blackwell of Ware Shoals and the late Edmond Ruben Blackwell, Sr.
Mr. Blackwell was employed with GE in the Pipe Shop in Greenville. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, the Campbell Masonic Lodge, and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was also an avid Harley Davidson rider.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Blackwell of Clinton; son Stephen Walter Blackwell Jr., of Waterloo; daughter Amber Meade of Laurens; daughter Magdelina Blackwell; three brothers, Ruben Blackwell, Jr (Debra) of Ware Shoals, Michael Blackwell (Bonnie) of Ware Shoals, and Jonathon Blackwell (April) of Laurens; grandmother Vera Blackwell; father in law Jimmie McFarland (Martha) of Laurens; and three nieces and three nephews.
In addition to his father he was predeceased by his grandmother Peggy Ballard of Clinton and his grandfather Edmond Walter Blackwell of Clinton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 2:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
