Susan Davenport Castaneda

Susan D. Castaneda age 67 of 119 Whitmire Hwy joined her father, Maurice Davenport in Heaven on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
She was born in Clinton, SC and was a daughter of the late Maurice Davenport and Juanita Wicker Davenport of Joanna.
Mrs. Castaneda received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Carson-Newman University, Jefferson City, TN. She taught students piano and organ and played the piano and organ at the First Baptist Church of Joanna where she was a member. In 1975 she received her O.R.T. (Operating Room Technician) degree from Piedmont Technical College, using her training in hospitals in Greenwood, Clinton, and Laurens and before her retirement she served as a school nurse in Clinton District 56.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Roy Castaneda of the home; a son, Patrick Castaneda (Kelley) of Clinton; two daughters, Noel Pillay (Anthony), Maria Mason (C.J.) all of Fountain Inn; a twin sister, Linda D. Swygert (Don) of Joanna and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Mar. 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Joanna.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Joanna, 301 Magnolia St., Joanna, SC 39351.
The family will be at the home of her son, Patrick Castaneda, 209 W. Walnut St., Clinton, SC 29325.
