Susan Brown Hoke age 62 of 611 Shands St. passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was the adopted daughter of the late Jake and Lavern Burgess Brown.
Ms. Hoke was a retired employee of Fleur Daniel Construction Company. She was very active in the Masters Mission, making many trips to the Ukraine bring medical supplies and toys to the orphans. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, attended Davidson St. Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Clinton. Susan enjoyed craft making and traveling to different craft shows in our area.
Surviving are her son, John Reed Hoke of Hodges; her former daughter-in-law, Marya P. Hoke and their three daughters, Kodie Bishop, Kuree Gilliam and Madison Hoke; a daughter, Cynthia Martin and husband Walter Rutledge Martin of Greenwood and their son, Walter Rutledge Martin, Jr.; two brothers, Paul Brewington, and Terry Brewington; five sisters Virginia Campbell, Kathy Turner, Phillis Alley, Jennie Robinson, and Linda Guildford; and her foster siblings, Paula McLain and Paul pace.
She was predeceased by her mother Betty Jean Smith Brewington.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Sherrill Green and Rev. Alvin Hodges.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial be made to Masters Mission.
