Thomas White Copeland, 71, of Clinton, widower of Constance Puckett Copeland, died peacefully on May 29th, 2016 at the Laurens County Hospice House.
Tom was born on August 30th, 1944 in Clinton, South Carolina to Carol White and Margaret Sadler Copeland. He graduated from Georgia Military College and Georgia Southern University. Following his graduation from Georgia Southern he and Connie were married and left for Germany where Tom served in the US Army for five years. They returned to Clinton, SC in 1975 where he worked for Neptune Manufacturing until he purchased Home Wholesale.
Tom was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, the Clinton Rotary Club, the board of Lakeside Country Club, and an enthusiastic supporter of Presbyterian College. In his spare time he was an avid golfer and enjoyed hitting the greens with his friends.
He is survived by his son Thomas Raymond and Sarah Sweeney Copeland. His daugh¬ter Carol Copeland and Michael Robert Queen. Tom has three lovely granddaughters Sadler Rose Copeland, Molly June Copeland and Constance Rae Queen. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Laurens County Hospice House and the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 1st. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
