Thomas “Tommy” Fuller Motes, age 65, of 108 Wilderness Drive, passed away
Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Clinton on June 11, 1952 and was a son of the late W. Fuller and
Mary Emma Speake Motes of Mountville, SC. A graduate of Clinton High School,
he graduated Erskine College and retired from Carrier Corporation. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter hunting and fishing. Mr.
Motes spent many years as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and youth leader. He
never met a stranger.
Mr. Motes is survived by his wife Nancy Tisdale Motes of the home; his
daughter, Marianne Motes (fiancé, Jonas Altmaier) of Charleston; his brother, Phil
Motes (Leah) of Augusta, GA; his nephews, Christopher Motes, and Matthew
Motes (Caitlin); and his niece, Anna Motes.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the
Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends Friday, January
19, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Gray Funeral Home in Laurens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Missions Fund at Westminster
Presbyterian Church.
