Preacher Thomas O. Wilkes, Sr., age 85, of 376 Bethany Church Rd, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Fort Mill, SC and was a son of the late Boyd and Nellie Wilkes.
Mr. Wilkes was an auto mechanic, he was a former employee of Whitten Center and retired from B.F. Shaw. He attented Glory Bound Ministry in Laurens and was a US Marine Veteran.
Mr. Wilkes is survived by three sons Thomas Wilkes, Jr., Kenneth Wilkes, and Mark Wilkes; two daughters, Renee Craine, and Dianne Vaughn; one brother, Boyd Wilkes, Jr.; two sisters, Flo McLendon, and Ione Hendrix; a special great-grandson Easton Stone; twenty grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Joyce Gossett Wilkes, his daughters Janice Corder, Kim Hyler, and Pat Ray; a brother, William C. Wilkes; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 19, at 2 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton, the family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM before the service.
