Thomas William Campbell, Sr., age 85 of 3364 Trinity Church Road died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late William Vangillion and Ione Taylor Campbell.
Mr. Campbell retired from Sears as a store manager before going into business for himself as owner of Campbell Appliance and Service. He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church and was active as a Shriner, Mason and member of the Exchange Club and Gideon’s. He also served his country in WWII in the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Hill Campbell of the home; three sons, Thomas William Campbell, Jr. of Greenville, Berry Allen Campbell of Lexington, KY, Wayne Taylor Campbell of Gray Court; two daughters, Freida Annette Farmer of Clinton and Jo Ann Brown of Guatemala; three brothers, John Henry Campbell of Greenville, Taylor Campbell of Greenwood, Cecil Campbell of Berryville, VA; two sisters, Frances Thackston of Simpsonville, Mary Jane Templeton of Spartanburg; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Billy Campbell and Edwin Campbell and a sister, Virginia Campbell Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
