Tommie Ruth Nelson, age 90, of Clinton, SC, passed away, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.
She was born December 10, 1933 in Belton, SC, and was a daughter of the late Norman Augustus and Lizzie Mae Sircey O'Shields. Tommie Ruth was a retired LPN from the Laurens County Hospital and Bailey Hospital. She was a devoted member of the Elizabeth Street Church of God and served as an Evangelist with the Church of God of Prophecy. Known for her artistic talents, poetry, drumming skills, and her love for collecting baby dolls, Tommie Ruth touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her children, Ralph David Nelson, Jr. (Wanda) of Clinton, Sandra Nelson of Clinton, Deborah Nelson of Pelzer, and Nancy Martini (Lenny) of Clinton; ten grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren and one great-grandchild in heaven; and her sister, Rachel Huey of Clinton.
Funeral Services with Nurses Honors will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Elizabeth Street Church of God with Pastor Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Nancy Martini, 351 Old Colony Road, Clinton, SC 29325.
