Toy "Evans" Roberson

Toy “Evans” Roberson, age 88, husband of Evelyn O’Shields Roberson, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

He was born on April 26, 1936, in Enoree, South Carolina, and was the only child of the late Toy and Irene Casey Roberson. Evans retired as a proud veteran after 21 years of service in the US Air Force. He then worked for 21 years as a city postal carrier for the US Postal Service in Clinton. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cross Anchor.

In addition to his wife of 70 years, Evans is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Roberson; his two sons, Donald Roberson and Michael Roberson.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, with The Rev. Myron W. Wilkins officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors in Woodruff, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to New Hope Baptist Church, 11841 SC 56, Cross Anchor, SC 29331, or Thornwell, 302 S. Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325.
