Vera Stewart Coats

Vera Stewart Coats, age 71, of 402 Fern St. and formerly of Laurens, SC died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her home.
She was born in Laurens and was the daughter of the late Watts Kennedy and May Etta Owens Stewart.
Mrs. Coats was a homemaker, an avid gardener and loved all flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Durand G. Coats of the home; a daughter, Kayla Thompson of Charlotte; a son, Bryan Stewart Coats of New Ellenton; three sisters, Beck Holliday and Diane Catarius both of Laurens and Jeanette Elder of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, George Stewart and Mike Stewart both of Laurens; four grandchildren; Brantley Thompson, Carly Thompson, Jeremy Stewart Coats and Jordan Coats.
She was predeceased by a sister, Lib Owens of Laurens and a brother, Ken Stewart of Las Vegas, NV.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the home of her sister, Diane Catarius, 2814 Lakeview Dr., Laurens, SC.
