Verna White Mckain

Verna White McKain, age 94 widow of Hugh B. “Doc” McKain went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 12, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Little Mountain, SC and was a daughter of the late Willie Franklin and Mamie Olive Frick White.
Mrs. McKain retired from J.P. Stevens Whitmire Plant and was the last surviving charter member of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Whitmire. She had served the church as President of the Women’s Group and on church council. She served her community as secretary of the Friendship Club, treasurer of the Young at Heart, president of Crime Watch and as a private caterer.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia McKain Lineberger of Rock Hill; son-in-law, Buddy Lineberger of Catawba; grandsons, Britton Lineberger, III and wife Carole of York, Samuel McKain Lineberger and wife Stephanie of Rock Hill; great-grandchildren, Daniel Thomasson and wife Amber, David Thomasson and wife Kerri, Korie Turner Lineberger, Lindsey, Chelsea and Sierra Maloney and great-great grandchildren, Kylie and Taylor Thomasson; one sister, Mary McDuffie of Mooresville, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 14th at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Timothy Lutheran Church with Burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
