Vernon Kelly,age 70, of 835 Isle of Pines Circle died Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Rockingham County, NC and was the son of Brazil Kelly of Laurens and the late Ethel S. Kelly.
Mr. Kelly was a retired construction worker, a member of the Rolling”S” Golf Club, a member of the S.C. National Guard and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Rhoden Kelly of the home; three sons, Vernon Ray Kelly of Waterloo, James Jeffery Kelly of Mountville and Gerald Kelly of Waterloo; three daughters, Debbie Wood of Laurens, Hazel Ann Crawmer of Brandon, FL and Donna Johnson of Lacoochee, FL; two brothers, Billy Joe Kelly of Waterloo and Bobby Kelly of Rock Hill; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Daventon Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at their home.
