Vernon E. Williams, of 121 Milling Street, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
He was born in Whitmire, SC and was a son of the late William Fredrick and Elsie Florence Reed Williams.
Mr. Williams was retired from Clinton Mills Clinton #2; a World War II Army veteran; and a member of the Elizabeth Street Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen B. Williams of the home; two sons, Larry E. Williams (Cathy) of Laurens and Vernon E. Williams (Deborah) of Laurens, two daughters, Dorothy Anderson of Clinton, and Elsie Heaton (Allen) of Clinton; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin Williams of Clinton; a sister, Mildred Williams of Clinton; three grandsons, Anthony Williams of Laurens, Stephen McCall of Clinton, and Joseph Anderson, Jr. of Spartanburg; and a son-in-law, Joseph Anderson, Sr. of Clinton.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth Street Church of God.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home at 121 Milling Street in Clinton.
