Victoria Green Campbell, age 79, of 22729 SC Hwy. 121 and the widow of Omer Ellerbee Campbell died Saturday, Sept. 12th at the Hospice of Laurens County, Hospice House.
She was born in Hartford, TN and was a daughter of the late James Ike Green and Lura Williamson Green Whitmire.
Mrs. Campbell was retired from J.P. Stevens Whitmire Plant, Torrington Bearing Company and was a longtime employee of Anderson Hosiery Mills. She was a member of the McCullough Presbyterian Church for 56 years where she was a member of the Women of the Church and a Sunday school teacher, she also was a member of the Whitmire Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughters, Elaine Campbell and John W. Irwin of Laurens, Norma Campbell Cashion of Travelers Rest; one sister, Edna Ruth “Randy” Townsend of Laurens; a sister-in-law, Pearl T. Green of Laurens; four grandchildren, Anna I. Garrett and Brandon, Benjamin W. Irwin and Casey, Jacob C. Cashion, Zachary L. Cashion and one great grandson, Noah Benjamin Garrett. Mrs. Campbell is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Alvin Green and her step-father, Benjamin Ansel Whitmire.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 11:30 A.M. in the Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday before the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
