Violet Crisp Wilson
Violet Crisp Wilson, age 99, widow of Lowry M. Wilson, passed to her heavenly home, Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Laurens County Hospital.
She was born Sept.10, 1908 in Mountville, SC and was the daughter of the late William E. and Maude Hill Crisp.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Providence A.R.P. Church and a graduate of Winthrop College, class of 1931. Being a certified school librarian, she helped to start many elementary libraries in Union and Laurens Counties. Her graduate work was a Furman University.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Martha Mitchell and Jim of Bainbridge, GA, Lowry M. Wilson, Jr. and Ruth of Powdersville, SC, Roy Wilson of Clinton, SC and Brenda Jamison and Dallas of Charlotte, NC; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
She was predeceased by four brothers, two sisters and a son, William “Bill” Wilson who is survived by his wife, Brenda.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Providence A.R.P. Church, 701 S. Broad St. Clinton, S.C. 29325.
Graveside services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008 in Clinton by Dr.Jack Heinsohn.
