Virgil Raye Cook

Virgil Raye Cook age 61 of 451 Blackburn St. and formerly of Clinton, SC died Wednesday, Feb. 15th in the Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
He was born in Newberry and was a son of the late Darrell Phillip Cook and Alice Adams Cook Smith.
Mr. Cook earned an associates degree in accounting and was self employed in the business of tax preparation and general accounting. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Cook Pugh of Clinton; three grandchildren, Timothy Joseph (T.J.) Pugh, Justin Alexander Pugh both of Pauline, Tiffany Michelle Neal of Clinton; a brother, Robin Smith of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Susan) Copus of Port Salerno, FL; an aunt, Mrs. Frank (Skylar) Workman of Laurens; a sister-in-law, Mrs. David P. (Gwen) Cook of Clinton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Cook was predeceased by his companion, Charles W. Grubbs and a brother, David Phillip Cook.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 18th at 3:00 p.m. in the Providence A.R.P. Church in Clinton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charily of one’s choice.
