Virginia Seymore Yarbrough, age 89, of 69 Union Street, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Newberry.
She was born in Ninety Six, SC and was a daughter of the late Herbert P. Seymore, Sr. and Julia Goodman Seymore.
Virginia began her working career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Fingerprint Department in Washington, D.C. until injuries she received in a train accident brought her back home, she then worked with Belk Department Store in Whitmire, but for 35 years she was most known for her time in banking and retiring from First Citizens Bank. She came out of retirement to work with Gray Funeral Home for the next 20 years just recently retiring. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire, and Poll Worker for the Newberry County Election Commission.
She is survived by her son Gary Yarbrough (Liz) of Rock Hill; her daughter, Becky Hinrichs (John) of Roanoke, VA; her brother, Herbert “Sam” P. Seymore, Jr. of Ninety Six, SC; and her four grandchildren, Roger Adams (Kelley) of Rock Hill, Amanda Dancy (Ben) of Greensboro, NC, Jenna Hinrichs of Arlington, VA, and Jeremy Hinrichs (Jess) of Roanoke, VA.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2 PM at the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
