Virginia Frick Abercrombie, age 90 of 104 Goldfinch Court, Piedmont, South Carolina passed away on Monday October 8, 2012 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville after battling a long illness.
She was born Monday, September 4,1922 on Labor Day to Olin and Lillian Frick. She is the widow of the late Jonathan Dozier and the late Willis "Bill" Abercrombie. She retired from GTE Telephone Company in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She moved to Laurens with her second husband where she was a longtime resident. She moved in with her granddaughter in 2003.
She is predeceased by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, Huiell and Wyman Frick and a sister-in-law, Valerie Frick.
She is survived her sons, Larry Dozier and William "Mac" Abercrombie both of Laurens; a grandchild, Lori Dozier of the home; four great-grandchildren, Chase and Lillyanna Roberts of Laurens and Austin and Maykaylie Bonds of the home; Mary Lynn Tollison of Laurens and Alex Hartman of the home, both are extended family. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Marie Frick and Frontis and Dorinda Frick; and a sister-in-law Ruth Frick.
Graveside services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry, South Carolina on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
The family would like to thank McCall Hospice House of Simpsonville and Gray Funeral Home of Laurens for their excellent care and compassion at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the McCall Hospice House in memory of her name.
