Dateline-Whitmire, SC Virginia “Lucy” K. Cooper, age 83 of 519 Sims St. died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. She was born in Greenville County and was a daughter of the late John Frank and Olive Maude Thompson King. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire, a graduate of Hickory Tavern High School and a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Edgar Cooper of the home, two daughters, Judi Anderson and Tami Cooper both of Piedmont; one brother, Otis T. King of Hickory Tavern; one sister, Mary K. Broom of Laurens; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 14th at 2:30 p.m. at the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.
