Vivian Parks Adair, age 89 died Wednesday, August 2, 2006.
She was born in Adair, South Carolina to V. Parks Adair and Rachel Leake Adair. She had been a Hampton resident since 1943.
Having joined NACA in 1943, she worked as a mathematician as the name changed to NASA, eventually retiring in 1973. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Hampton and a Certified Lay Speaker. She was also a member of Chapter A.J. of the P.E.O., the Penguins travel club and the United Methodist Women.
Miss Adair is survived by her cousin, Mrs. Richardine Firth and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and a wide circle of friends.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, August 13, 2006 in Broad Street United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m.
