Walter Mack Thomas Melton, Sr., age 87, of 91 Spring Street, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Fairfield County and was the son of the late Walter and Ruby Foxworth Melton.
Mr. Melton was a retired employee of West Point Stevens and was a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Bullard and husband, Alvin, of Whitmire and Carolyn Henry and husband, Jimmy, of Clinton; a daughter-in-law, Pat Melton; ten grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Reardon, Stacey (Neil) Melton, Scott (Tonya) Bullard, Chris (Jessica) Bullard, Eric (Tammy) Reardon, Amanda (Jared) Chastain, Amy (Charlie) Crumley, Kevin (Kelly) Melton, Melissa Henry, and Sheila (Mike) Socorro; and twenty-one great-grandchildren, Austin, Matt, Gracelyn, Chandler, Nick, Alyssa, Taylor, Tyler, Kirsten, Aden, Payton, Taylor, Selena, Mackenzie, Audriana, Mady, Chase, Austin, Nikki, Logan and Ashley.
Mr. Melton was predeceased by his wife, Edna Silvers Melton; his son, Walter Mack Melton, Jr.; his sisters, Jackie Melton Middleton, Marilyn Osborne, and Virginia Melton Smith; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30th, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Whitmire, at 2 PM, with burial at Whitmire City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday at Gray Funeral Home in Whitmire from 6 to 9 PM.
The family will be at the home of his granddaughter located at 8 Old Airport Road, Whitmire, SC 29178.
