Wanda Louise Baker, age 82, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at her home.
She was born on March 3, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Bert G. and Ula Cox Rose. Wanda worked 2 full time jobs to support her family and later retired from both, Palm Beach County Housing Authority and Albertsons Grocery Store. She was a faithful member of Family of God Baptist Mission Church in Gray Court. She loved her family, making crafts of all kinds and cooking especially the “Best Fudge”.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Priscilla Sue Beckett; her daughters, Linda Louise Sturgill, Jamia Sue Pleasant (Gilbert), Debora Faye Henderson, and Carolyn Dee Mathis (Joshua); her grandchildren, James Dwight Sturgill (Lynda), Nicole Marie Sturgill, Raymond Scott Snyder, Deidra Joy McArthur, Derrick Bryon Bradley, Matthew Roy Blevins (Kristen), Carey Ward Henderson, Jr., Carly Faye Henderson, Jacob Noel Mathis, Caleb James Mathis, her great-grandchildren, Samantha Marie Sturgill, Cayden James Snyder, Parker Allen Blevins, Luke James Clark, Levi Jacob Clark, Cruz Raymond Sturgill, Raelynn Vae Blevins and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wanda is predeceased by her brother, Wendell David Rose and her son-in-law, John Sturgill.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Gray Funeral Home of Laurens is assisting the family with arrangements.
